Jennifer DeJesus Sabella was born in 1964 in New York City into an artistic family. As the daughter of Broadway actress Bambi Linn, she was surrounded from an early age by diverse creative talents. Today she lives and works in Litchfield CT.  A self-taught artist, Jennifer has honed her artistic style across years of experimentation with materials and structure. She is primarily an abstract artist, focused on color, texture and the stories they reveal; a journey of expression that’s taken her quite far from the technical pen-and-ink renderings she worked on as a young artist.

Among Jennifer’s signature works are her vibrant ‘drips’ or color streams, which in a gravity driven process integrate repetitive lines and layers of paint into evocative striped canvases. This same commanding play of color and texture evolves dramatically in her abstract oil scapes, wood mosaics and hanging sculptural paintings as well, drawing the viewer into a world of light, color and texture.

Jennifer’s first significant exhibition was in 2010 at the Bendheim Gallery in Greenwich CT, where she showed alongside Helen Frankenthaler, Robert Motherwell and Sol LeWitt. Her first solo exhibition in 2013 at Five Points Gallery in Torrington CT garnered glowing reviews and led to over a dozen solo exhibitions across New England. She is the Artist in Residence at Winvian Farm and is a summer Artist in Residence at Borgo Santo Pietro in Italy. Her work is held in collections around the world.
